The turning of a new year is a perfect time to retune neglected habits, from being lazy by letting your dishes pile up and not going to the gym, to even how you treat your skin. Improve your skincare regime and your complexion by doing these New Year’s resolutions:
1. Man-up on your skincare.
Buy better products to use on yourself. Splurge a little bit and buy a luxury moisturizing sunscreen with high SPF rating. Your skin needs extra hydration especially during the winters months. See our recommended products to buy here.
2. Be sure to cleanse your face before hitting the sack.
We are sure many people get lazy and just go to bed without washing their faces, removing makeup, or taking a shower. Doing this often enough causes unintentional harm to your skin as the dirt, wax, hairgel, and crud that’s accumulated in your hair over the past 24 hours now gets spread onto your face through your pillow covers. Wash, rinse, and moisturize your face before going to bed. Especially if you are acne-prone, you will be alarmed as to how much better your skin will clean up even after just 2 weeks.
3. Clean your makeup brushes and your bag.
Makeup brushes get unsanitary and filthy when used frequently. In fact they actually get unhygienic and the bacteria that grow on them can cause acne breakouts and skin inflammation. Wash makeup brushes weekly with brush cleansers or hair shampoo. And wash makeup bags in the laundry or hand-wash if they you have luxury ones from the likes of Bottega Veneta.
It’s 2015. Treat your skin to a better year!
