REN skincare, a British brand based on natural ingredients, announced today its takeover by Anglo-Dutch conglomerate Unilever. REN was founded 15 years ago by Antony Buck and Robert Calcraft.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but REN skincare had sales of £40m in 2013. Their products are sold in 50 different countries and in Sephora stores in the USA.
Other personal grooming brands Unilever owns are AXE, St. Ives, POND’S, and Noxzema. Unilver says that REN will make a great fit in their prestige brands portfolio as the natural skincare category was one of the fastest growing in the sector.
