Skin care and beauty behemoth Estee Lauder today has announced their acquisition of RODIN olio lusso luxury skin care. The brand was founded by acclaimed New York stylist Linda Rodin. She has wardrobed supermodels like Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima, and Laetitia Casta to A-listers like Madonna and actress Halle Berry and was considered one of the best freelance stylists during her time.

Linda didn’t like the skin care options out there so she decided to dive into the world of beauty and skin care. From there, the RODIN skincare brand’s iconic product, the RODIN olio lusso face oil, which means luxury oil, was launched in 2007 derived by mixing essential oils from flowers and botanicals in her NYC kitchen. She used her special concoction on her clients, models, and makeup artists she worked with and all gave her positive feedback and craved it. From there the RODIN skin care line began! The brand is currently sold in upscale trend-setting shops like Barney’s, Colette, and Liberty.

Ms. Linda Rodin has stated that the Estee Lauder Companies shares the same philosophy as hers which is “creativity and entrepreneurialism.” The RODIN line will be overseen by John Demsey, Estee Lauder’s President. Financial terms of the sale have not been disclosed.
